Glacier National Park Construction Projects Under Way

Park officials said visitors should expect mild delays because of the various projects.

KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) A number of construction projects at Glacier National Park are under way.

The Daily Inter Lake reported that road closures began after the Labor Day holiday and will continue through May.

A segment of roadway between the two entrances into the St. Mary Visitor Center parking area will be closed for construction from Sept. 19 of this year to May 26, 2017. Part of the Trail of the Cedars was closed on Sept. 6. The road to the Avalanche Campground was closed Sept. 20. And the Going-to-the-Sun road will be closed to vehicular traffic on the east side from Oct. 17 through May 26.

Park officials said visitors should expect mild delays because of the various projects.
