Tracey Road Equipment celebrated its 40th anniversary with an open house on Oct. 6, at its Syracuse, N.Y., headquarters. Contractors and municipalities from across New York State were invited to view the latest advancements and technologies in road building, excavation, trucking, and road maintenance equipment.

Highway Equipment Company of Ohio held a Bell Truck customer lunch on March 2 at its new facility in Canton, Ohio. Customers came to tour the new facilities, visit its offices, meet the company's people, see live demonstrations, kick the tires and operate the new Bell B50E 50-ton (45 t) articulated trucks.

Bell Trucks America, Inc. has been appointed the Bell articulated truck distributor for the United States by Bell Equipment, SA. Bell Trucks America, Inc also known as BTA, is based in Houston, TX and will begin distributing the Bell B35D, B40D, B45D and the largest production ADT, the Bell B50D.

TBEI Inc., manufacturers of dump truck bodies, equipment and end dump trailers, has named Terry Campbell as its new general manager of Ox Bodies Inc. where he will have direct responsibility over all operations and sales at its Fayette, Ala., facility.

Representatives from John Deere Construction & Forestry, the Common Ground Alliance (CGA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) rang the ceremonial closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange on August 20, to promote awareness of underground utilities through the use of the national 811 call-before-you-dig phone number.

For practically every new business there’s a visionary, and for paving contractor T.J. Campbell Construction Co., that person was the late Ted Campbell. “He was the dreamer, the motivator and the risk-taker that you have to be to be an entrepreneur in these times,” said Campbell’s wife, Jo Anna Campbell, who initially helped her husband as a bookkeeper and today serves as president of the company.

Ronnie Preston Campbell, 67, died Oct. 27, 2008. Funeral services were held Oct. 30, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Fort Mill, S.C. Burial was at Grandview Memorial Park. Campbell was a son of the late Preston Melvin and Ruby Evatt Campbell. He was the co-founder and CEO of AME Inc.
