Rhode Island's two United States senators, along with its congressmen, were joined by other state and local leaders Sept. 2 on the side of State Route 146 in Smithfield to announce much-needed improvements to the roadway, made possible by a federal $65 million INFRA grant.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) teamed up with numerous construction and trade industry professionals Oct. 30 to help more than 500 high school seniors from 26 schools to explore new careers in the transportation construction trades at the RIDOT Construction Career Days, held today at RIDOT's Midstate Facility in East Greenwich.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) announced the start of a project to replace the city of Providence-owned Hawkins Street Bridge, which carries Hawkins Street over the West River, between Branch Avenue and Corliss Park, in Providence.

Reconstruction of the Victory Highway Bridge, which carries Victory Highway, Route 102, over Route 95 in West Greenwich, R.I., started in Nov. 2017 and is in its second phase, with half the bridge having been demolished and rebuilt and the second half under way.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) announced it will be performing steel repairs this summer to the Diamond Hill Road Bridge, which carries Diamond Hill Road over I-295 in Cumberland. This will strengthen the bridge's superstructure, avoiding any traffic or weight restrictions that might be needed if RIDOT did not perform this work.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is investing in much-needed repairs to 1.3 mi. (2 km) of roadway in the villages of Wakefield and Peace Dale in South Kingstown. Work is under way with the initial task involving the installation of new drainage structures along a section of Kingstown Road, working south toward High Street.
