Low Country Machinery, the authorized JCB dealer for the Coastal Georgia region, has expanded into the Atlanta market. The expansion gives coverage across the state of Georgia with the addition of two new locations, Atlanta JCB in Kennesaw and one in Augusta. Rick Piper will serve as president overseeing operations at all three locations.

“I am excited about this opportunity. The addition of both Atlanta JCB and our new location in Augusta enable us to provide the highest level of customer service across the state,” said Piper of the expansion.

Low Country Machinery has been serving the heavy equipment industry in coastal Georgia since 2001. During that time it has built a reputation for commitment to the customer and outstanding service capabilities.

“These days, everyone is really looking at their bottom line. Not only do we offer competitive pricing and aggressive financing options, but our experienced service team can work with customers to extend the life of their current machines regardless of make or model,” Piper said.

The addition of Atlanta JCB in Kennesaw, Ga., came at a great time for Low Country Machinery, according to the company. The current slowdown provided an excellent opportunity for expansion. When the market is in full swing it is more difficult for organizations to focus on training and business processes. The team from Low Country has been able to work very closely with the new team in Atlanta to ensure that a synergy exists between the two locations.

“It was important to me that we carried our corporate culture over to Atlanta. I believe that all of our staff, from sales people to service technicians needs to have the same customer focus and ’can do’ attitude,” added Piper.

With more than 20 years of experience in the construction equipment industry, Piper and his team bring industry and market knowledge to their new venture. He became president of Low Country Machinery last year after serving as vice president of national accounts for JCB Inc., JCB’s North American Headquarters, giving him a unique understanding of the manufacturer/dealer relationship.

Piper’s professional career began with a rental company in Buffalo, N.Y. He then spent 11 years with the hydraulic hammer division of Sandvik departing as general manager for North America. He joined JCB in 2001 and his experience encompassed a number of functions in the commercial, sales and marketing areas.
