Liebherr R 924 Crawler Excavator Performs in a Compact Size

- National Edition

The R 924 compact swing offers the performance specification of a standard excavator and also the reduced size of a compact machine.

The constructive design of the R 924 compact swing enables high excavating and loading performance to be achieved, even in very tight spaces. The machine is thus ideally suited for roadworks where traffic is not to be disrupted, or in inner-city areas that for other reasons provide only limited room for maneuvering. The R 924 compact swing also can be used for standard earthmoving and channel construction applications, as well as for demolition and handling work. The excavator also is ideally suited for deployment on hilly terrain, according to the manufacturer.

The excavator’s rear swing radius is less than 5 ft. 7 in. (1.7 m)., while the swivel radius of its working attachments and cab remains below 6 ft. 3 in. (1.9 m).

Depending on the working tool or quick-change unit fitted, the operating weight of the machine lies between 55,500 and 64,000 lb. (25,174 and 29,030 kg).

The 161 hp (120 kW) Liebherr four-cylinder diesel engine produces its full output capacity at low speeds, and is therefore particularly economical, according to the manufacturer.
