Manitowoc 31000 Scale Model Debuts at ConExpo

- National Edition

Manitowoc’s 1:50 scale replica of the 31000 will make its public debut at ConExpo in the company’s booth, Gold Lot number 430. Manitowoc will have two of the scale models on display in its trade show booth.

The model will be available for order at ConExpo. It is expected to arrive in stores and to customers with pre-orders in April.

“We’re excited that the 31000 model is arriving this spring. Since we started the model last summer, there’s been tremendous interest and many of the models are already reserved,” Amanda Barbarossa, promotional program manager said. “We don’t expect many will be available after ConExpo.”

The model’s features include moving crawler tracks, full-rotation slewing, a detailed hook block, key-operated drums, a detailed cab interior and a fully functioning Variable Position Counterweight system with individual counterweights.

The Manitowoc 31000 model will be painted Manitowoc red and will be rigged with a 262 ft. (79.9 m) boom and 131 ft. (39.9 m) luffing jib at a 1:50 scale. Production is limited to 500 units, that will retail for $1,800 each.

The crane will be available for purchase in the merchandise shop at Manitowoc’s ConExpo booth or online at the Manitowoc Model Shop Web site at www.manitowocmodelshop.com.
