PPG Industries’ industrial coatings business has earned recognition as a “Partner-level” supplier for 2009 in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. The Partner-level status is Deere & Co.’s highest supplier rating.
PPG was selected for the honor in recognition of its dedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement. Courtney Jungjohann, Reggie Horne and Mike Bredfeldt accepted the recognition during formal ceremonies Feb. 17 in Moline, Ill.
PPG supplies electrocoat, liquid and powder coatings, as well as pretreatment chemicals, to John Deere’s operations in the United States, Mexico, South America, Europe, India and China.
Suppliers that participate in the Achieving Excellence program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and wavelength, which is a measure of responsiveness. John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes continuous improvement.
Pittsburgh-based PPG is a global supplier of paints, coatings, optical products, specialty materials, chemicals, glass and fiber glass. The company has more than 140 manufacturing facilities and equity affiliates and operates in more than 60 countries.
