The Topcon Technology Roadshow set up shop at the Ritchie Bros, permanent auction facility in South Vienna, Ohio (outside of Columbus), for a two-day event on July 9 and 10. The event was hosted by GeoShack, Topcon’s dealer for Ohio. Several area equipment dealers also lent machines for use in live demonstrations.

The educational program featured classroom sessions and "hands on" training demonstrations focusing on the latest technological advances for surveying, construction and agricultural applications. Classroom sessions were conducted in Topcon’s traveling 5,000 sq. ft. mobile classroom/theater housed in a custom-designed 18-wheeler.

During the event, attendees were presented with information about machine automation, enterprise solutions, BIM and 3D layout, site management, GNSS and Robotics and imaging and mapping. With an emphasis on providing a personalized educational and training experience, representatives of Topcon and GeoShack were joined by Columbus Equipment Company, Southeastern Equipment Company, and Murphy Tractor & Equipment representatives (including Murphy Tractor & Equipment’s Machine Technology Specialist Jason Welch) to address attendees’ individual application questions.

GeoShack is a technology leader in the construction, surveying, laser and machine control industries in the United States and Canada with 23 retail locations in eight states and two provinces. GeoShack’s staff of sales professionals and factory trained technicians take a solutions based approach toward serving their customers.

Topcon’s Technology Roadshow launched in April and is working its way through North America with a total of 23 customer events planned that will ultimately span six months and 23,000 mi.
