Utility Contractors Shoot Skeet for Scholastic Success

Georgia Utility Contractors Association Inc. (GUCA) held its 2006 Scholarship Foundation Skeet Shoot at the Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds in Atlanta, Ga., in November.

Fifty-three participants enjoyed the cool, sunny weather for this annual event which included teams from: Robert M. Anderson Inc., Atlanta JCB, Ronny D. Jones Enterprises Inc., P.F. Moon & Company Inc., Premier Utilities & Services Inc., Reynolds Inc., Rockdale Pipeline Inc., Strack Inc., Total Development Inc., Willow Construction Inc., and Wright’s Hydroseeding Inc.

Team P.F. Moon & Company Inc., which included Keith Steen, P.F. Moon & Company Inc.; Chip Allen, Southern Water Technologies Inc.; Hal Bayless, Fastpak Systems; Scott Boatright, BB&T Insurance Services; and Fred Belnap, Southern Water Technologies Inc., took first-place honors with a team average of 19. Jimmy Bragg, Willow Construction Inc., won Best Individual Shooter with a score of 24.

Sponsorships from Robert M. Anderson, METRAC, P.F. Moon & Company Inc., Rockdale Pipeline Inc. and Brent Scarbrough & Company Inc. helped make this event a success, according to GUCA.

The money raised from this tournament will go toward the GUCA Scholarship Foundation, which helps support members of GUCA families with college tuitions.

“The utility contractors have given so much to the association” said Executive Director Vikki McReynolds. “It is time we give back.”

The Georgia Utility Contractors Association Inc. Scholarship Foundation was founded in 2003. Winners are chosen based on scholastic achievement, extra-curricular activities, community service, career goals and completion of an essay.
