ARTBA Regional Meetings Provide Briefings on Federal Transportation Policy Issues

Fri November 28, 2008 - National Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

What does the election of Barack Obama and new members of Congress mean for future federal surface transportation policies and regulations? What is the financial condition of the Highway Trust Fund for FY 2010? And most importantly, what will happen in 2009 with the next federal highway/transit investment authorization bill?

The answers to those questions and more will be the focus of four regional meetings in December for transportation design and construction industry professionals hosted by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA).

Each ARTBA regional meeting will include six hours of comprehensive policy briefings, economic analyses, regional market updates, grass roots education sessions and interaction with senior state/regional policymakers and industry leaders. Meetings also will provide networking and best-practices sharing opportunities for attendees.

ARTBA regional meetings are open to member and non-member firms and also will offer a special event group hotel rate for attendees who choose to arrive the night before, although sessions are planned to accommodate same-day arrival and departure.

Meeting dates include:

• Dec. 2: Hilton St. Louis Airport, St. Louis, Mo.;

• Dec. 4: Hyatt Place City Park, Charlotte, N.C.;

• Dec. 9: American Airlines Training and Conference Center, Fort Worth, Texas;

• Dec. 11: Sheraton Baltimore-Washington International Airport, Baltimore, Md.
