Construction charity AGC Charities Inc. and the Colorado Contractors Association's Emerging Leaders Council have begun construction of a new Head Start playground that will expand play learning opportunities for dozens of local children. As part of the charitable organization's annual Autodesk Operation Opening Doors effort, dozens of construction firms are donating time, expertise and money to build the playground in Colorado Springs.
AGC Charities Inc. , the charitable arm of the Associated General Contractors of America, donated $265,000 to fund a new "National Healing Quarters" for Warrior Canine Connection. The funds will help cover the cost of renovating a historic dairy barn in Boyds, Md., to serve as the new headquarters for the group that provides therapy for veterans with invisible wounds like PTSD and service dogs for other wounded veterans.
AGC Charities Inc. , the charitable arm of the Associated General Contractors of America, is providing 65 construction workers in Puerto Rico with $100,750 in donated funds to help cover losses they incurred as a result of Hurricane Maria. The checks, which amount to $1,550 per construction worker, are intended to help employees of firms that belong to the association cover the costs of uninsured and uncompensated damages caused by the storm.
The AGC of Texas was awarded for organizing a hurricane relief fund for the maintenance crews of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). As a result, the group was named the AGC in the Community Award Chapter Winner by the charitable arm of the Associated General Contractors of America, AGC Charities Inc.
