JCB is celebrating the news that its electric mini excavator has scooped one of the world's most prestigious prizes for engineering innovation. The UK's Royal Academy of Engineering announced that JCB's ultra-quiet and zero emissions 19C-1E electric mini excavator has won the 2020 MacRobert Award.

JCB has been awarded a contract to supply the U.S. military with a fleet of specialized high speed excavators over the next eight years in a deal worth up to $269 million. The deal centers on the supply of High Mobility Engineer Excavators (HMEEs) for the U.S.

The new JCB Series III agricultural telehandlers are designed specifically for agricultural customers, feature the JCB Command Plus cab, and include several other enhancements including increased lift capacity. These new features allow operators to be more productive, while the new Command Plus cab provides operators with enhanced comfort, quietness and all-round visibility, according to the manufacturer.

JCB in the United Kingdom is poised to re-start production at a factory closed as a result of the Coronavirus crisis in order to join the global effort to manufacture ventilators, the company announced March 30. JCB received a direct appeal from UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to help plug the national ventilator shortage and to help save lives of Coronavirus patients.

JCB and Extreme Sandbox collaborated with the Snickers brand, as they launched their new campaign, #SNICKERSFixTheWorld. Snickers hosted its #SNICKERSFixTheWorld event in downtown Miami, Fla., where the iconic chocolate brand invited professional athletes and media to share "why they dig" as they got behind the seat of two full-size JCB 150X excavators, each wrapped in special Snickers livery, to test their excavator operator skills under the supervision of heavy equipment instructors.
