Dollar Tree Inc., North America's leading operator of discount variety stores, has construction under way on a new 1.2 million-sq.-ft distribution facility in Ohio's Bennington Township, Morrow County. The company is investing more than $125 million in the project, which will provide service directly to Ohio's 735 existing Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores.

Rudd Equipment Company held an open house event to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Volvo articulated hauler at the company's Louisville, Ky., location on June 28. Volvo released the first articulated hauler in 1966 and Volvo's Golden Hauler, with custom-gilded paint, commemorates the 50th anniversary of the hauler.

George J. Igel & Co. Inc. celebrated its 100th anniversary with an open house for its customers and vendors July 15 and for its employees and their families July 16 at its Columbus, Ohio, facility. The event drew more than 400 attendees over the course of the two days.

Mason C. Rudd, founder of Rudd Equipment Co. in Louisville, Ky., died July 5. He was 90. Rudd opened the company in 1952 as a distributor of construction and mining equipment representing Volvo, Hitachi, Terex Fuchs, Driltech, Kent, Link-Belt and Tamrock.
