More than 250 people representing 25 major paving companies, three local Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) districts, and nine local municipalities attended the Fifth Annual Winter Paving Seminar conducted by the Ingersoll Rand Harrisburg/Moosic team at the Ingersoll Rand Equipment & Services branch in Lewisberry, PA.

“The program continues to grow in momentum with more people attending each year,” said John Mooney, the sales team leader for the seminar. “After a neutral market in paving last season, we are positioned to have a very strong showing this season. Our customers are excited about the prospects of a good year and the growing Ingersoll Rand strength in the paving market.”

The seminar focused on heavy highway paving and asphalt compaction. Tom Skinner, dean emeritus of the Ingersoll Rand Institute, opened the seminar with his “Paving Crew” evaluation program. Dale Starry, marketing manager of industry and government associations for the Ingersoll Rand Construction Technologies sector, followed with a presentation on compaction theory and rolling techniques.

Scott Wiley, marketing manager of large paving of the Ingersoll Rand Construction Technologies sector, presented the company’s line of paving products. Attendees also learned about the Ingersoll Rand Quality Reborn program, which remarkets pavers and compactors, from Scott Walter, manager of dealer development of Ingersoll Rand Remarketing.

A Quality Reborn PF-5510 paver and DD-110HF compactor, as well as a new DD-112HF compactor, were on display at the Ingersoll Rand Equipment & Services branch.

The Quality Reborn display and presentation generated a lot of interest in Ingersoll Rand remanufactured products. “Many attendees had to look closely to see that they were not new products,” said Mooney.

Similar training to what was conducted at the Winter Paving Seminar can be obtained at the Ingersoll Rand Institute.
