The event, sponsored by Renda Broadcasting Corporation, the Indiana County Center for Economic Operations and the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex is designed to address the significant impact of local business opportunities and job creation as a result of dramatic increases in Marcellus Shale gas well drilling.
Katie Klaber, president of the Marcellus Shale Coalition, delivered the opening address, which was followed by seminars and workshops, including a presentation by Tony Palamone of the IUP Small Business Institute on business marketing programs and company branding, and a talk on Gas Finance and Tax Issues for Landowners conducted by Michael Jacobson, associate professor and extension specialist, Penn State University and a seminar on Geology and The Future.
Also on hand were many suppliers, service providers and associations offering information and displaying their equipment, products and supplies.
