The first week of March was a busy time for Tractor and Equipment Co. (TEC) paving specialists because of two successful Paving Schools held in north and south Georgia.
The one-day schools were provided for TEC’s paving contractors at no charge.
Stan Lamb, a Blaw-Knox representative, presented the morning program. The session provided attendees with information consisting of:
• Paving techniques,
• Mat problems,
• Safety,
• Segregation of material, and
• New electric heated screed.
The afternoon class was conducted by Etnyre’s representatives, Lynn Prescott and Jeff Hitchcock. They provided hands-on instruction with the Centennial asphalt distributor. Problem solving and trouble shooting points were shared with attendees.
TEC had more than 55 customers in attendance at each school, with some including APAC, C.W. Matthews, Riverdale Paving, Snell, Stewart Bros., Douglas Asphalt, Reeves Construction and Shepherd Construction.
It is TEC’s hope to continue with these types of schools in the future to help its customers be more profitable and eliminate downtime.
