As the New Year gets into high gear with its promise of good things in the future, the A. Montano Company has been working to offer its customers some new and exciting changes.

In business for more than 20 years, the A. Montano Company has been a used equipment distributor. However, with the dawning of 2005, the company also has become authorized to sell Daewoo in the Hudson River Valley region.

As a used equipment distributor, the company has access to late model used construction equipment, enabling it to offer a wide variety of machinery from bulldozers, excavators, mini-excavators, crawler loaders, and backhoes to York rakes and wood splitters. Now, customers also can purchase new equipment from A. Montano. The selection of new equipment includes 22 different models of excavators and rubber-tired loaders from six different model sizes, all from Daewoo.

According to Anthony Montano, president, the company decided to represent the Daewoo line as a way of fulfilling two needs: first, it enhances the offering of new equipment to customers who want to move up to new machines, and secondly, the pricing advantage from Daewoo make it a great way for Montano to cost-effectively put new machines into its rental fleet.

Also on tap for 2005, the A. Montano Company will have a new 4,000-sq.-ft. sales office at its facility on Route 212 in Saugerties, NY. The expansion includes a showroom and customer reception area. In addition, the company is planning to expand its sales staff as well as the service department to better serve its current and future customers.

Eleven years ago, the A. Montano Company was basically a one-man operation with a rental fleet of approximately 30 machines, said Kevin Knaust, general manager. Today, the company has an inventory of more than 200 full-size machines for sale or rental which includes Daewoo, Case, Deere, Dresser, Hitachi, Kobelco, Komatsu, Caterpillar and Ingersoll-Rand equipment, as well as a large selection of buckets, thumbs and hammers.
