The Houston branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas will break ground on its new 280,000-sq.-ft. (26,012 sq m) building at 1801 Allen Parkway on Weds., Oct. 16.

The building is set for completion by summer 2005, and will replace the current facility.

Linbeck Construction Co. will supervise the building project. Locating the branch along Allen Parkway in Houston’s historic Fourth Ward will provide an opportunity to ehnance one of the city’s greenbelts and create a gateway to downtown.

The Dallas Fed serves a district encompassing Texas, northern Louisiana and southern New Mexico. It has branches in Houston, San Antonio and El Paso.
