H&E Equipment Services celebrated the grand opening of its new full-service facility in Chesapeake, Va., April 7.

On hand to take part in the event were more than 225 customers, equipment manufacturers, employees and government officials, including the mayor of the city of Chesapeake and directors of economic development.

The event kicked off with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony after which attendees enjoyed a self-guided tour of the facility, exhibits, equipment demonstrations and a VIP barbeque buffet. Guests also experienced hands-on demonstrations of the new Doosan DX140 excavator and a new Gradall XL3100 truck-mounted excavator.

“Earthmoving and crane customers, along with all general and subcontractors, now have a brand new, state-of-the-art facility they can depend on to take care of all their equipment needs,” said Tom Grant, H&E Chesapeake branch manager. “We are now better able to provide outstanding rental, sales, parts, service and training with this facility that has been specifically designed with the equipment customer in mind. The new facility gives us the space, tools and resources we need to keep a competitive edge and demonstrate our long-term commitment to this area.”

Located on nearly 6 acres at 3601 Koppens Way in Cavalier Industrial Park, the new facility features 5,000 sq. ft. of office space, a 2,500-sq.-ft. parts warehouse and a 10,000-sq.-ft. shop facility. The shop can handle large repair jobs with two, 10-ton overhead cranes.

H&E Equipment Services’s Chesapeake branch is the authorized dealer for Manitowoc, Grove and National Crane, as well as Doosan, Gradall, Genie, JLG, Gehl, Magnum Power Products and many more. The Chesapeake staff consists of industry veterans with more than 150 years of combined experience. In-shop and mobile service capability at the store allows them to repair nearly all of types of equipment operating in the Tidewater Area.

Established in 1961, H&E Equipment Services is celebrating its 50th anniversary and is a supplier of equipment for construction, earthmoving, aerial and material handling customers. H&E Equipment Services has 67 locations throughout the United States.
