Komatsu America Corp., has introduced the addition of the highly successful PLUS (Parallel Link Undercarriage System) rotating bushing undercarriage option to the D85EX/PX-18 dozer.

“PLUS undercarriage cuts maintenance costs, extends wear life and excels in high-impact, rocky ground conditions and on low-impact, sandy jobsites,” said Chuck Murawski, product manager, Komatsu America. “This leading-edge track technology is quickly becoming standard equipment on several Komatsu dozer models,” Murawski said.

Each of the three different shoe widths available – 24”/610mm, 26”/660mm and 28”/710mm PLUS ES shoes - are made with extreme service shoes for maximum wear life and durability. The PLUS system is designed to provide up to twice the life of a conventional undercarriage, lowering repair and maintenance costs by up to 40 percent in certain applications. PLUS also eliminates the downtime of pin and bushing turns. All PLUS undercarriage components are designed for equal wear life, according to the company.

PLUS uses oil lubricated, rotating bushings that are free to rotate, unlike fixed bushings used on conventional undercarriage systems.

Additionally, the PLUS undercarriage assurance program covers leakage and breakage due to defects in material or workmanship for 3 yrs./4000 hours, whichever occurs first. Local Komatsu America distributors also can offer supplemental wear-life coverage.

Additionally, the D85EX/PX-18 dozer and every other Komatsu Tier 4 Final construction-sized machine, whether rented, leased or purchased, is covered by the Komatsu CARE program for the first three years or 2000 hours, whichever comes first. Komatsu CARE includes scheduled factory maintenance, a 50-point inspection at each service and two complimentary Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter exchanges and DEF tank flushes in the first five years.
