The Independent Equipment Dealers Association (IEDA) recently hired Kristen Williams as its newest executive director. As the executive director Williams’s goal is to provide the members of the IEDA an effective tool and valuable resource for promoting their independent companies and the equipment they have for sale.

“Increased membership means new opportunities to form valuable relationships with good people, and that is what this organization is about,” Williams said.

“Moving forward, the IEDA will focus on providing value to its members in the form of networking events and educational opportunities, a resourceful and updated Web site and an ideal setting to make connections with both dealers and suppliers. I believe that in this economy where dollars are few, independent dealers are forced to rethink everything from their advertising strategies to their business model. “With this is mind, the IEDA is currently in the process of defining new strategies for IEDAused.com, with the intention of developing this site as a smart and affordable means of effectively advertising heavy equipment in the industry today.”

“I believe that the IEDA has been and will continue to be a valuable resource for this industry. I plan to be instrumental in the growth of this organization and hope to serve in this role for the long-term,” Williams said.

“My appointment to the executive director position of the IEDA is an honor. I am thrilled to join this trade association that is intensely committed to its mission of serving as a unified and powerful voice for independent equipment dealers. I am excited about the opportunity to assist the IEDA membership in strengthening their businesses and I am anxious to see results,” Williams added.

Williams comes to the IEDA with more than 10 years of experience in business management. She began her career with a trade publishing firm in New York City where she spent six years serving as marketing manager for two key trade publications. She has experience in conference and event planning, sales support, promotions and customer service.

The IEDA is a trade association dedicated exclusively to issues affecting independent equipment dealers. It was established to provide the resources needed to promote participation, professionalism and advancement in the independent distribution of heavy equipment.
