Schlouch Incorporated’s workload increased during the second half of the year as funding for developers became more available. A diversity of projects throughout its market area saw all team members back to work and its fleet of heavy equipment getting a good workout. Here is a recap of some of the projects it now has under way.
Berks County
Western Berks Community Landfill & Recycling Center has selected Schlouch Incorporated to provide site work for its 2.25 acre cell expansion in Cumru Township, Berks County, Pa. Schlouch is providing erosion control, site excavation, a leachate collection system, protective cover placement, seeding and sediment trap upgrades. Work was completed November 2009.
Bucks County
County Builders Inc. has selected Schlouch Incorporated for site preparation for a townhouse community and small retail development at Walnut Grove, Lower Southampton Township, Bucks County, Pa. Schlouch is providing blasting, rock removal, survey, stakeout, sediment/erosion control, earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, building pad preparation, concrete work, paving and seeding. In addition Schlouch will provide highway improvements to Philmont Avenue, Bustleton Pike and County Line Road. Work will be completed by Spring 2010.
Lehigh County
Sunshine Two LTD has named Schlouch Incorporated to handle site preparation for Hidden Meadows Phase 1A, a residential project consisting of 90 lots on Werley Road, Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, Pa. Schlouch is providing clearing, grubbing, blasting, rock removal, survey, stakeout, sediment/erosion control, earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, building pad preparation, concrete curbs, paving and seeding. In addition Schlouch will be installing approximately 1,300 linear ft. of offsite storm sewer along with a 20 Mil PVC liner in the basin. Work will be completed by late 2009.
Montgomery County
Paul W. Moyer & Sons Inc.; Mikelen LLC.; and David Erb Contractors Inc. have named Schlouch Incorporated to the New Hanover Square Road Improvements in New Hanover Township, Montgomery County, Pa. Schlouch is providing clearing and grubbing, survey, stakeout, sediment/erosion control, storm sewers, roads, curbs, paving and seeding. Schlouch is installing 2,544 ft. of storm sewer, 4,438 ft. of curb and widening 6,400 ft. of road. Work will be completed in December 2009.
Ames Construction has selected Schlouch Incorporated to develop the site for a Giant Food Store and strip mall being developed by Douglass Equities LLC. The site is located at County Line Road and Route 100 in Douglass Township, Montgomery County, Pa. Schlouch is providing clearing, grubbing, survey, stakeout, demolition, blasting, rock removal, sediment/erosion control, earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, roads, building pad preparation, concrete work, curbs, paving, landscaping and seeding. Work will be completed by December 2009.
Northampton County
Joseph I LP chose Schlouch Incorporated to prepare a 15.28-acre site for the Joseph I Proposed Retail project on Corriere Road in Palmer and Lower Nazareth Townships, Northampton County, Pa. Schlouch is providing clearing, grubbing, survey, stakeout, demolition, sediment/erosion control, earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, roads, building pad preparation, curbs, paving and seeding. Work will be completed by Spring 2010.
E. Allen Reeves has chosen Schlouch Incorporated to prepare a site on Country Club and Green Pond Roads in Bethlehem, Northampton County, Pa., for the Calvary Baptist Church. Schlouch is providing clearing and grubbing, blasting, rock removal, survey, stakeout, sediment/erosion control, earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, roads, building pad preparation, concrete work, curbs and paving. Work will be completed by Spring 2010.
Serfass Construction Inc. has named Schlouch Incorporated to handle site preparation for a doctor’s office building at Crossroads at Nazareth, Palmer Township, Northampton County, Pa. Schlouch is providing clearing and grubbing, demolition, blasting, rock removal, survey, stakeout, sediment/erosion control, earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, building pad preparation, concrete work, roads, paving and seeding. Work will be completed in 2010.
