Raptor XL300 and XL400 cone crushers by FLSmidth Pekin LLC are designed not only to meet producers’ stationary crushing needs, but also are fully engineered to enter the portable plant markets, according to the manufacturer.

Working with preferred chassis and screen manufacturers, FLSmidth’s engineers can custom-design a portable wheel-mounted plant, based on customers’ unique applications. FLSmidth builds rear-discharge XL300 and XL400 wheeled plant models as stock available for immediate purchase.

Wheel-mounted plant options include rear discharge and rear feed-side discharge for both the XL300 and XL400. When combined with a horizontal 6 by 20-ft. (1.8 by 6 m) two- or three-deck screen, the XL300 can be configured into a closed-circuit crushing and screening plant.

The XL300 and XL400 cone crushers can both be configured with two- or three-deck horizontal screens that are 6, 7 or 8 ft. by 20 ft. (1.8, 2 or 2.4 m by 6 m), to provide open-circuit crushing and screening plants. Hydraulic run-on jacks also are available as an option to quickly level the plant into operating position after pulling onsite. This option eliminates the time consumption and safety issues created by leveling plants with cribbing timbers, according to the manufacturer.

The XL300 and XL400 cone crushers feature a high pivot point and large crushing stroke that offers crushing action throughout the crushing chamber. An active feed opening creates better end product shape for high production of salable material. The crusher line also employs “fail safe” hydraulics through an internal relief valve within the dual-acting tramp release cylinders, which ensures the machines stay protected from mechanical overload should an accumulator bladder fail.

Advanced overload sensing technology detects crushing force overload. A simple alarm is activated, or the system can be automated to take corrective action. This same advanced automation system can be used to optimize crusher performance, feed control, setting adjustment and monitoring of all critical lubrication and hydraulic parameters.

An additional safety feature standard on all Raptor models is the counterclockwise rotation crushing action that protects the machine if adjustment ring movement is excessive or if the ring gear brake fails.
