Austria’s Rockster Recycler has opened up a new distribution network in North America to grow its mobile crushing and screening equipment.

Rockster North America, which began in mid-2009 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, will be run by Stephane Guerchon. Guerchon, who will serve as president and CEO, has more than 20 years experience in the construction machinery sector, including more than 10 years in the compact crushing and screening branch.

“Rockster North America has been created in order to be closer to our final customers and their individual needs,” said Wolfgang Korman, CEO of Rockster Austria. “It guarantees not only a direct and competent sales management overseas, but also quick and smooth after sales with full technical support and spare and wear parts availability. This is all managed by native and competent branch experts on site.”

In opting to direct Rockster North America’s operations, Guerchon, as well as Dan Civinski, the newly formed company’s chief technical officer, noted that the Austrian company was offering a complete range of compact crushing and screening equipment, from impact to jaw crusher in different weight classes, screen boxes as well as screening plants and the Rockster Duplex System.

The all-in-one crusher/screener is available in the R800, R900 and R1100 models.

The mobile track-mounted impact crusher R900 is useful for recycling and crushing of rubble, asphalt, concrete and virgin stone. Due to two hydraulically adjustable swing-beams, as well as variation of the rotor speed, the final grain can be optimally influenced.

The R800 is a solution for the recycling and crushing of rubble, bricks, concrete and virgin stone. A fully hydraulic crushing plant, the R800 is driven by an electronically regulated Caterpillar/John Deere motor. The jaw crusher is driven via a hydrostatic motor and the gap adjustment is hydraulically governed. Material is fed into the crusher over a hydraulically powered vibration channel.

Material feed, chassis frame and drive system of the R900 are identical to those of the R800, allowing for interchangeability of the crusher units.

The R900 and R800 can both be equipped as closed circuit machines

“This unit can be a jaw crusher or an impact crusher. It has the same chassis. The machine can switch between either crusher [jaw or impact] in less than 6 hours,” said Guerchon.

The jaw crusher would be used for primary crushing (hard and strong rock) and the impact crusher would be used for primary or secondary crushing.

Service and Maintenance

“Servicing and maintenance to the machine is simple. It is very mechanic friendly. You don’t have to climb on top of the machine and you’re not cramped. Two back doors on either side of the machine open and the mechanic can fix everything right there. They can climb right in and repair the machine,” said Civinski.

Diagnostics on the computer will indicate what is wrong and where there is a problem.
