Dan Smith has been hired to become general manager of product support, and will be working out of Roland Machinery’s Springfield, Ill., location. He will be serving in this position for all of Roland’s branches from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin, through Illinois, northwest Indiana and eastern Missouri. Before he took over this job, Smith was director after sales of another equipment manufacturer for eight years, director service —Komatsu NA: utility division for three years, and director product support of VT LeeBoy for four years. He has past product support management experience at the OEM level with various companies.
Matt Roland, Roland Machinery president, also announced the promotions of Larry Gindville and James Jesuit.
Gindville will be taking over as vice president and general manager of the Chicago and Wisconsin divisions, covering the northern Illinois, Wisconsin and UP market.
“For the past two years I have been the general manager of the Wisconsin division,” said Gindville. “Responsibilities included all aspects for direction and operation of the division. We have worked hard to bring a new vision to Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan with a focus on customer satisfaction. In July 2012, the Chicago division was added to my territory with the same responsibilities. Once again, we will work very hard to ensure customer satisfaction is number one.”
Gindville has 34 years of experience in the construction industry — 23 years on the contractor’s side with 15 of those years as an equipment manager. He spent nine years at another dealership with seven years as vice president of sales and two years as vice president of service, and the last two years with Roland Machinery Co.
Jesuit has been promoted to vice president/general manager of the St. Louis division of Roland Machinery Co., covering eastern Missouri and southern Illinois from the Bridgeton, Mo., location.
“I worked 10 years with a manufacturer with responsibilities as a financial analyst, parts support, service management and senior territory manager,” Jesuit said. “I switched to distribution and have spent the last 16 years with responsibility of general manager, vice president of sales with complete P & L responsibility. Most recently in 2009 I was hired by Roland Machinery to manage the Chicago division and in 2010 added the southern part of the Wisconsin division. I focused on all departments — parts, service and sales — and increased customer satisfaction.
“I strive to meet our customers’ expectations in response time, parts availability, and productivity, all while adding value to the partnership,” he said.
