Metso has successfully completed its acquisition of HighService Service, the service division of the Chilean mining engineering, construction and technology company HighService Corp. HighService Service offers its customers a variety of services from maintenance to commissioning and remote monitoring.

Metso has been awarded with an order to supply crushing and material handling equipment for the first stage of Codelco's El Teniente copper mine expansion project located in Cachapoal Province in central Chile. The order was booked in Metso's first-quarter 2019 orders received.

Metso has agreed to acquire HighService Service, the service business of the Chilean mining technology and maintenance provider HighService Corp. HighService Service is aservice provider for the mining industry, with operations in Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

When designing a plant expansion project, it is important to go beyond laboratory tests to confirm that the selected technology is optimal for the process in question. Convinced by the results of Metso's award-winning HRC technology and operational results in the USA, several customers have expressed their desire to see whether Metso's HRC solutions would also suit their growing production and scalability needs.

Metso has received an award as the most outstanding international mining supplier 2017 in the ranking of the mining industry suppliers in Chile. Metso has received recognition in this ranking for six consecutive years, this time taking the lead in the category of international suppliers.

Fluor Corporation announced Sept. 25, that its joint venture team was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract for BHP's Spence Growth Option project at the Spence open-cut copper mine in northern Chile. The 50/50 joint venture with SalfaCorp is responsible for the delivery of the 95,000-ton-per-day copper concentrator and associated works.
