JCB has upgraded its wheel loader range with heavy-build 426B models and a new Super High Lift option on the 436B HT.
JCB’s 400 series B line-up builds from the compact and powerful 407B ZX to the high-production 456B ZX, while also featuring several HT tool carrier models. ZX machines feature heavy-duty Z-bar loader linkage for high loader breakout forces and easy bucket filling. High-torque HT tool carriers have four-point loader geometry and quick-hitch mountings for fast and easy changing of attachments.
The 98-kilowatt (132 hp), heavy-build 426B ZX and 426B HT have operating weights of 13,065 kilograms (28,804 lbs.). and 13,295 kilograms (29,310 lbs.) respectively, while delivering better operating loads. The 426B ZX, with a 2.1-cubic-meter (2.75 cu. yd.) capacity, achieves an operating load of 3,885 kilograms (8,564 lbs.).
The tool carrier version, with the same capacity, has an operating load of 3,716 kilograms (8,192 lbs.). The completely redesigned 426B chassis is not only heavier than its predecessor, but also offers improved tractive effort.
JCB’s 436B HT with the Super High Lift loader arm option delivers a loadover height of 5 meters (16 ft. 5 in.), which is nearly 1.2 meters (4 ft.) more than the standard 436B HT. With a 2.4-cubic-meter (3.1 cu. yd.) bucket, the 107-kilowatt (144 hp) SHL version has an operating load of 2,885 kilograms (6,361 lbs.).
Super High Lift allows the 436B HT to do the work of considerably larger, more costly machines and, when rehandling light material in industrial or agricultural applications, replaces loaders with heavy, cumbersome, high-tip buckets.
The Rest of the B Series
All of JCB’s Series B articulated wheel loaders and tool carriers are powered by EPA-certified, ’green’ engines, offering quieter combustion, longer service life, increased torque and improved unaided cold starting. Bucket capacities range from .76 to 3.06 cubic meters (1 to 4 cu. yds.). Among the options available are limited slip differential axles on the front and rear to increase traction, and a Smooth Ride System (for 426, 436 and 456 models) to improve machine handling in long road and carry applications.
