John Deere's L-Series II skidders and feller bunchers build upon the best features of the original machines while simplifying the design to increase reliability. The simpler L-Series II models reduce maintenance and increase uptime with more than 1,600 parts changes, including more robust electrical harnesses, fittings, hoses, and cylinder guards than previous models.

The continued growth of the steep-slope market is opening new opportunities for loggers. Factory-installed on the John Deere 959ML shovel logger, the FL100 directional felling head meets loggers' demand for a larger, more durable solution. Practical for felling and maneuvering timber on challenging terrain, the FL100 delivers enhanced grapple strength, arm durability and rotate/tilt power, according to the manufacturer.

The Doosan DX300LL-5 road builder iteration of the popular log loader model was shown for the first time in North America during ConExpo-Con/AGG 2020. The DX300LL-5 road builder is scheduled to be available in North America in May 2020. In addition to introducing the DX300LL-5 road builder, Doosan launched a road builder version of its larger DX380LL-5 log loader at the same time.

Sennebogen LLC recently announced that Greg Roberts has been retained in the position of tree care manager for the manufacturer's new line of tree care handling machines. Some of the most beautiful weather in recent years could be found at the 82nd Annual Oregon Logging Conference (OLC), held from Feb. 20 to 22, at the Lane Events Center and Fairgrounds in Eugene Ore. Thousands of people visited the three-day show, including more than 1,500 high school and elementary school students and educators.

Stanley Infrastructure, a premier partner for industrial tools and attachments, announced that Paladin is expanding its offerings for mini-excavators with a new line of brush cutters: the MX Series, going on sale in April. The MX Series incorporates many of the same design principles as Paladin's GroundShark series, extending those principles into the mini-excavator space.

A wide variety of new products will be showcased by FAE at ConExpo 2020 in the Central Hall at 22221. The FAE BL1/EX 75 excavator mulcher, the very first of a new family of Bite Limiter mulcher attachments will be at the center of the display. The BL1/EX 75 is an addition to the very extensive line of excavator mulching heads offered by FAE.

In Sennebogen terms, generations have passed since Finkbeiner KG commissioned its electric-drive Sennebogen 835 C-Series machine in 2003. Over the next 16 years, Sennebogen established new benchmarks for safety in material handlers with its D-Series line-up, then led the drive to new levels of "Green Efficiency" energy savings with the launch of its E Series machines in 2012.
