Right out of the gate, the first W 210 Fi mills in North America won big as they cold-planed the famous Barber Motorsports Park outside Birmingham, Ala. There, in summer 2019, Mill It Up LLC, Warrior, Ala., — as milling subcontractor for Granite Construction Co.

Crews in Salt Lake County, Utah are working long hours to complete the Blackrock Reconstructed Project. The $41 million effort involves reconstructing three bridges along I-80 to provide safe and efficient travel for growing communities in Tooele County.

Granite announced recently it has been awarded a $79 million contract by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to construct the Highway 101: Carpinteria project in Santa Barbara County, Calif. The $79 million contract award will be booked in Granite's second quarter 2020 backlog.

Granite has been awarded a $14 million contract by the City of Palo Alto for the Highway 101 Adobe Creek Pedestrian/Bike Bridge Project in Palo Alto, Calif. Granite's scope of work for this new year-round, grade-separated, shared bicycle and pedestrian crossing includes construction of the principal span structures of self-weathering steel trusses over Highway 101, the east and west cast-in-place concrete approach structures, three trailheads, site amenities, signage, landscaping, lighting and improvements to the Adobe Creek Reach Trail.

Granite has been awarded a contract by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for the reconstruction of four miles of State Route 99 (SR 99) near Kingsburg. A primary source of funding for this project is Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 that is expected to invest $54 billion over a 10-year period to improve California's roads, freeways and bridges.

Granite (GVA) has been awarded a $39 million contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for modifications to the Lewisville Dam in Lewisville, Texas. Granite will book the project into its second quarter 2019 backlog. Scope of work includes the construction of upstream embankment modifications, crest road improvements, conduit filter, waterline relocations, seepage collection systems, improved roadway system and associated work.

Granite announced that the joint venture team comprised of Granite and Teichert Inc. has been awarded a $275 million contract by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for the SAC 5 Corridor Enhancement Project in Sacramento, Calif. The project will rehabilitate 67 lane mi.

Granite and Healy Tibbitts Builders Inc. announced that their joint venture team has been awarded a $27 million joint venture contract by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest for the construction of maintenance dredging at Piers 1, 3 and Paleta Creek at Naval Base San Diego.

Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is in the final year of a $41M project to replace three aging bridges on I-80 in Tooele County, Utah. The project, which features new bridges with an additional lane, began in spring of 2018 and is expected to conclude before the end of 2019.

Granite announced June 26 it has been awarded a $29 million contract by the Merced County Department of Public Works for an expressway construction project in Merced, Calif. The contract will be included in Granite's second quarter 2018 backlog. Granite will construct an extension to the four-lane Campus Parkway expressway on the east side of the city of Merced to connect Highway 99 to the University of California, Merced.

Traffic congestion and San Ramon's upcoming City Center were the catalysts to the improvement project along a 1-mi. stretch of Bollinger Canyon Road. According to the East Bay Times, traffic routinely backs up on Bollinger Canyon Road, with workers going to Bishop Ranch; shoppers headed to Market Place; people visiting City Hall; and to homes in the Dougherty Valley.
