National Ready Mixed Concrete Association

Every year, natural disasters threaten infrastructure and human life. The greatest damage (measured in repair dollars) is caused by storms. It is not only the high winds of thunderstorms, but rain and hail that cause the damage. Hurricanes and flooding are the second and third most destructive natural event, respectively.

In the wake of this week's destructive spate of tornados across the American Southeast, Build with Strength, a coalition of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) consisting of civic organizations, fire service professionals, architects, engineers and industry experts committed to enacting safer and more sustainable building standards, has released a video promoting the safety advantages of building with concrete.

Kenworth will provide a $2,000 savings to fellow National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) members on qualifying purchases of new Kenworth T880, T880S, W900, T440 and T470 vocational trucks through the association's Member to Member (M2M) Benefits Program.

Ilir Alibali, a concrete mixer driver with O&G Industries, recently was recognized by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) with its annual Safety Award. Alibali received the award for saving a driver in 2017. The driver had driven his sedan through O&G's Davenport Street Concrete Plant in Stamford and into the harbor.

A Kenworth T880S bridge formula mixer chassis, recently sold during online bidding, will provide a major contribution to the RMC Research & Education Foundation, due to Kenworth, McNeilus, NorCal Kenworth and other participating Kenworth supplier partners.

The Utah Ready Mixed Concrete Association is officially up and running after hiring an executive director in January. The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) announced its first state partnership with the newly established Utah Ready Mixed Concrete Association (URMCA) in October.

Waltham, Mass., city councilors voted unanimously July 31, to call on the state of Massachusetts to implement tighter restrictions on the size of wood-frame residential buildings after a massive ten-alarm fire destroyed a wooden apartment complex under construction in late July.
